"Live Cast"Jackson Funeral:LAst Foot Before Reach Heaven Door
Michael Jackson's funeral will take place amid reports that his coffin will be taken to the Staples Center memorial service so that fans can say their final farewell.
A private funeral service attended only by close family and friends is scheduled to take place at 8am local time, before the public memorial which promises to be one of the biggest showbusiness spectacles ever witnessed. America is expected to grind to a standstill as the service is broadcast live on television, and the global audience is estimated to exceed 300 million.
Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie are among the stars scheduled to perform, along with 12-year-old Swansea schoolboy Shaheen Jafargholi, who performed a Jackson hit on the television show Britain's Got Talent. Jackson's family invited Shaheen to sing at the service.
Los Angeles is in lockdown after police pleas for non-ticket holders to stay away were ignored. Some 1.6 million people applied for 8,750 pairs of tickets to the event, which were allocated via a lottery system. The lucky recipients were given gold wristbands which will grant them entry, but some chose to sell their tickets on eBay for tens of thousands of dollars. The website has promised to remove the listings as soon as they appear.

It's Jacko's Turn ToJehovah's At The End Or Stay With Islam?
Michael Jackson's £15,000 14-Carat Gold Plated:Last Show "The Greatest Show On Earth"
Up to a MILLION people are expected to make the pilgrimage to the Staples Center arena in Los Angeles on Tuesday - with 750 million more watching on TV.
Jacko's family yesterday confirmed his send-off will feature performances and tributes from a galaxy of music legends.Giant screens will be set up outside the vast 20,000-seater stadium - home of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team - for mourners who cannot get in.President Barack Obama was last night believed to have been sent an invitation.Jacko will be buried in a rare £15,000 14-carat gold plated casket, according to US reports. The custom-made solid bronze coffin - called a Promethean - has been ordered from the Batesville Casket Company, celebrity news website TMZ claims.
Fit for a King ... this Promethean coffin has been ordered for Jacko reports say
The circus famously bills itself "The Greatest Show On Earth" - ironically the very words Jacko used when asked what he thought his funeral would be like.
He said in 2002: "It's going to be the greatest show on earth.
"That's what I want. Fireworks and everything."
